MSI’s B660M Mortar MAX WIFI Pushes Intel’s Core i5-13600K To An Impressive 5.8 GHz OC With Special BIOS

When Intel’s 13th generation CPUs were launched, they received a great reception. But just like the previous generation, the Z790 motherboards only give the ability to overclock, leaving out the B660. However, MSI has a special type of BIOS that gives users again The ability to overclock Intel Raptor lake and open the CPU on its B660M Mortar Max WIFI motherboard.

So let me tell you all about why this news is big for MSI B660M Mortar MAX WIFI motherboard users. When the Intel company launched 13th-generation Raptor Lake CPUs, they could only be overclocked on Z790 or Z690 motherboards. Due to the locked BIOS, users of mainstream B660-series motherboards are unable to overclock their latest chips, despite some models having clock-generation support.

But BCLK can be adjusted to 125 MHz. Basically, users can only go up to 102.9 MHz (BCLK), but the MSI has a special type of BIOS that has the function to easily go through this limit. With the default BIOS, the CPU can only support a BCLK frequency of 102.9 MHz or 5.25 GHz. If you exceed the limit of BCLk, your motherboard will go back to their old version. (who will not support the 13th generation CPU.)

With the special BIOS of MSI, the MSI B660M Mortar MAX WIFI motherboard can gain a maximum of 113 MHz BCLK, which will bring the Intel Core i5-13600K CPU to a frequency of 5.76 GHz P-Core and 4.40 GHz E-Core.This is a +660 MHz P-Core and a +500 MHz E-Core clocked at 1.25V. There is no doubt the voltage is slightly higher, but the user can exceed the voltage of 5.8 GHz on the P-Core and 4.44 GHz on the E-Core, which is seriously impressive. But only at 115 MHz does performance start to drop because the CPU hits TjMax, but it still posts the clock speeds of 5.86 GHz on the P-Core and 4.48 GHz on the E-Core.
