In a recent leak, detailed performance benchmarks of the highly anticipated Intel Core i9-14900K CPU have surfaced, showcasing its formidable capabilities in comparison to AMD’s Ryzen 9 7950X3D. The leaked data, made available by HXL, offers a tantalizing glimpse into the potential powerhouse of the 14th Gen Intel processors.

The Core i9-14900K, part of Intel’s Raptor Lake Refresh series, was rigorously tested in a range of games at 1080P High settings. This selection was deliberate, aimed at ensuring that the CPU itself served as the primary limiting factor. 

Notably, the Ryzen 9 7950X3D was chosen for comparison, though it’s worth mentioning that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D may exhibit superior performance in specific games due to its unique single CCD 3D V-Cache configuration, compared to the dual CCDs featured in the 7950X3D.

The performance figures are nothing short of impressive. Out of 25 titles, the Intel Core i9-14900K emerged as the victor in 14, showcasing its prowess in a variety of games. A comparison of full performance is provided below:

However, it’s not a complete one-sided affair. The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D displayed its strength in certain eSports titles, including DOTA 2 and Fortnite, where it outperformed its Intel counterpart. On average, i9-14900K outperforms by +2.56%.

What’s particularly striking is that the Intel Core i9-14900K managed to achieve parity with the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D on average, despite operating at a clock speed advantage of +200 MHz. This indicates a commendable feat on Intel’s part, especially considering that the 14900K is projected to be priced on par with the Core i9-13900K. This implies that users can potentially unlock enhanced performance without incurring an additional cost.

Ultimately, the choice between the 7950X3D and 14900K will hinge on individual requirements.
